Laxostar Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Herbotech Company. It is mainly used in the treatment of recurrent constipation and piles.

Uses and dose

Laxostar tablet Indications:
Occasional or habitual constipation, constipation associated with piles, post surgical and post part partum cases.

Dosage: 1-2 tablets at bed time with Luke warm water.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Duration

How long to take?
This medicine can be taken for a period of 6 – 8 weeks as per doctors advice. After that time, usually the dose is gradually reduced and the medicine is stopped in next 6 weeks of time.

Laxostar tablet Ingredients: Each 500 mg capsule contains
Senna – Cassia angustifolia Vahl – 50 mg – It is mainly used as a blood purifier, laxative- for relieving constipation and to treat skin diseases. It is also known as Swarnapatri in Sanskrit.
Yasthimahu – Glycyrrhiza glabra Linn – 25 mg
Sunthi – Zinziber officinale – 25 mg
Dantimool – Baliospermum montanum – 50 mg – It induces diarrhea and is useful in treating liver disorders, digestive disorders, hemorrhoids etc.
Gulabpusph – 50 mg
Triphala – 50 mg
Amalaki – Emblica officinalis
Haritaki – Terminalia chebula
Bibitaki – Terminalia belerica
Nishoth – 50mg
Anjeer – Ficus carica – 25 mg
Kaladana –  Ipomoea hederacea  – 25 mg –  It is an Ayurvedic plant used for the treatment of of skin diseases, fever, headache, worm infestation and for inducing purgation. It is called Krishnabeeja in Ayurveda.
Munnaka – Vitis vinifera – 25 mg – It helps easy the bowel movements, relieves thirst, burning sensation, emaciation.
Revandchini – Rheum australe – 25 mg – It is an ayurvedic herb mentioned for the treatment of low digestion, constipation, dysmenorrhea, jaundice etc.
Amaltas – Cassia fistula – 25 mg
Saunf – Foeniculum vulgare – 25 mg

Side effects

Laxostar tablet Side effects:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It is usually prescribed in a lower dose during lactation and in children.
Consult your doctor for its usage during pregnancy.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
