Mridwikadi Leham is an Ayurvedic medicine in herbal jam / paste form. It is used for the treatment of coughṁ asthma etc. It contains Mridweeka or raisin as the main ingredient. It is also known as Mridvikadi Leham, Mridwikadi Lehyam etc.

Indications:
Cough, cold – Kasa
Asthma and chronic respiratory disorders – Shwasa
Useful in Pitta imbalance disorders such as gastritis, burning sensation, etc – Pittahara
Vomiting – Chardi
Chest / Pectoral pain due to congestion – Urah Shoola
Anorexia – Aruchi
Constipation – Malabaddhata
It acts as a mild laxative.

Ingredients
Ingredients of Mridwikadi Leham:
Sharkara – Sugar – 48 grams
Madhu – Honey – Q.S
Mridwika – Raisins – Vitis vinifera – 50 in number
Piper longum – Long Pepper – Piper longum – 30 in number
Method of Preparation
Raisins are washed in fresh water, seeds are removed and crushed into fine paste. Sugar and pippali are finely powdered. All ingredients are triturated with honey to form a semi solid mass. It is packed in a tightly closed containers.
Dose
Dosage of Mridwikadi Leham:
5-10 grams, once or twice a day, after food or as directed by Ayurvedic Physician
Dose in children below 5 years of age –1 – 2 grams, once or twice a day, after food or as directed by doctor.
Dose in children between 5 – 12 years of age – 3 – 5 grams once or twice a day, after food or as directed by doctor.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
Side effects, shelf life
Side effects:
It is not suitable for people with diarrhea, dysentry and in Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea.
Consult your doctor for its usage during pregnancy or lactation.
Keep out of reach of children.
Store in a cool dry place.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
