Vettumaran Gulika is an Ayurveda product in tablet form, used in fever and digestive disorders. This product should be taken only under medical advice. This product is formulated based on Kerala Ayurvedic principles.

Uses

Vettumaran Gulika uses:
It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of fever, vomiting, abdominal colic pain.

Safe with diabetic patients? Yes.

Dose, adjuvants

Vettumaran tablet dose:
1 tablet two times a day or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
In Jwara – fever – it is administered along with fresh ginger juice
In Vata imbalance and bloating, it is administered along with Cumin seed decoction.
In vomiting, it is given along with decoction of kacchura
In Anurea or difficulty in urination, it is given along with tender coconut water – Narikela jala
in Shoola – abdominal colic – it is given along with ajamoda arka (oma water)
In abdominal gaseous distension and tumour, it is given along with fresh garlic juice extract. – Lashuna swarasa.
It is administered along with Rasnadi kashayam for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients, method of preparation

Vettumaran Gutika ingredients:
10 grams of each of
Ponkaram – Tankana Bhasma – Borax
Muluga – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum
Nabhi – Shuddha Vatsanabha – Purified Aconitum ferox
Jatilinga – Shuddha Hingula – Purified and processed Cinnabar (Mercury compound)
Ajamoda – Ajowan (fruit) – Trachyspermum roxburghianum
The above powder mixture is pounded along with ardraka swarasa – fresh ginger juice extract and pills of the size of green gram are prepared and used.

Side effects, manufacturers

Side effects:
This should only be used after medical consultation.
It is to be avoided in children, pregnant and lactating mothers.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Store in cool dry place.
Stick to the dosage prescribed by the doctor. Do not overdose.
Take this product in specified dose for the specified time only.

  1. Hello doctot , I have a kid aged 6. He is prone to cold often n sometimes shortness of breath. My doctor has given vasha patradi kashayam +swasanandham pill+vettumaran gulika. No idea for what vasha patradi kashayam is used. It has vasapatram as main ingredient. Can u please clarify is that OK to continue the medicine?

    • Is nabhi vati and vettumaran gutika is same? Is nabhi vati is given in one tablet three times a day in irritable bowel syndrome?? Can it be safe. Can you tell me content of nabhi vati.

  2. can you tell me exactly what heavy metal ingredients are in it and in what dosage? I am not fond of ingesting even trace elements of heavy metals.

      > Tankana Bhasma – Borax
      > Shuddha Hingula – Purified and processed Cinnabar (Mercury compound)

  3. Dr. prescribed me Vettumaran Gulika. I have been taking Vettumaran Gulika with ginger water two times a day for past one week. Now my BP is high 150/100 (have been taking BP tablets Amlodipine). Is taking Vettumaran causes increase in BP?

  4. This tablet was prescribed for my 6 year old son and dr had clearly told if he is having severe cough,in that case only give one tablet with ginger water nd honey..if it is necessary. Does this tablet works for cough?
