Mathala Rasayanam is an Ayurvedic medicine in herbal jam form, used in digestive and respiratory diseases. Mathalam means pomegranate in Sanskrit. This product is formulated based on Kerala Ayurveda principle. It contains non veg ingredients.

Bleeding disorders – Raktapitta
Difficulty in speech – Swarabhanga
Fever and its complications.
Effect on Tridosha:
Balances Kapha and Vata Dosha.

Dose
Matala Rasayama dose: 5-10 grams once or twice a day, after food with honey or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
Dosage for children below 5 years of age – 1 – 2 grams, once or twice a day, along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water.
Dosage for children between 5 – 12 years of age – 5 grams once or twice a day along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
Ingredients
Mathala Rasayanam ingredients:
Dadima rasa – juice extract of pomegranate – 288 grams
Stanya – breast milk (or cow milk) – 288 ml
Atarusha rasa – juice extract of Adhatoda vasica – 288 ml
Ardraka rasa – ginger juice extract – 288 ml
Sita – sugar – 576 grams
Guda – jaggery – 576 grams
Khanda Sita – sugar candy – 576 ml
The above mixture is heated to semi solid consistency.
Taken out of fire and following ingredients are added –
Rala – Sarjarasa – Copal Tree (resin) – Vateria indica
Shringi – Colocynth (dried pulp) – Citrulus colocynthis

Kataka – Clearing nut (seed) – Strychnos potatorum
Renuka – Vitex agnus-castus
Kushta – Saussurea lappa
Yashtimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra
Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum
Ishwari – Aristolochia indica
Krishajeeraka – Cumin
Jatipatra – Nutmeg (leaf) – Myristica fragrans
Jatiphala – Nutmeg (fruit) – Myristica fragrans
Nagakana – Gajapippali – Scindapsus officinalis / Piper chaba
Gopangana – Sariva – Indian Sarsaparilla (root) – Hemidesmus indicus
Vrisha – Vasa – Malabar nut tree (whole plant) – Adhatoda vasica
Saindhava – Rock Salt
Nagakusuma – Nagakeshara – Mesua ferrea
Akarakarabha – Anacyclus pyrethrum
Chandana – Sandalwood – Santalum album
Kasturi – Musk
Gorochana – cow bile
Mukta Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Pearl
Indu – Karpoora – Camphor – Cinnamomum camphora
Mrigaretasi – Marjalaveerya – Caveat cat semen
Pravala Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Coral
Swarnamakshika Bhasma – Calx of Pyrite of Iron and Copper
After cooling down, honey is added.
Side effects, precautions and manufacturer
Side effects: Since it contains Bhasma ingredients, this product should only be taken under medical supervision.
Children, pregnant and lactating mothers should seek doctor’s advice compulsorily before taking this product. In such people, usually it is advised only for 5 – 10 days time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
Can it be taken while planning for pregnancy?
Yes.
