Sudhabala Thailam – Benefits, How To Use, Ingredients, Side Effects

Sudhabala Thailam is an Ayurvedic herbal oil. This Ayurvedic medicine is formulated based on Kerala Ayurveda principles. This is used in treatment of neurological conditions. 

Uses

Sudhabala Thailam uses:
It is used in Ayurveda treatment of neurological conditions such as hemiplegia, paraplegia, neuralgia, etc.
It is used for external application as in massage and also for oral administration. In vata this is equal to Ksheerabala, but does not excite kapha like it.

Application on feet

Oil application over feet

Precaution if you apply this oil over feet:
If you apply this oil on feet, make sure to wash off thoroughly with water or wipe off with cloth. The oil can make you slippery while walking.
After applying, make sure there are no oil spills on the floor. This can make the floor slippery.

Method of usage

Suddhabala Thailam How to use?
Externally, it is used for Abhyanga, Vasti, Dhara and such other Panchakarma and Upakarma therapies.
Orally,  it is usually administered in a dose of 2 – 10 drops once or twice a day before food with luke warm water or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

Available in 3 or 7 avartis. Avarti is the repeated processing of herbal oil, to improve its efficacy and potency.

Ingredients

Sudhabala Tailam ingredients:
Bala moola – root of Sida cordifolia – 480 grams
Tila taila – sesame oil – 3.072 ml
Balamoola kashaya – water deocoction of Bala root – 4800 ml.
Cow Milk – 6.144 ml

 The above combination is heated till the herbal oil is formed.

Side effects, manufacturer

Side effects and precautions:
It is best to use this medicine strictly under medical supervision.
Patients with high cholesterol and high blood pressure should take extra precaution.

During pregnancy, lactation

If you were using this oil before pregnancy without any allergic reaction, you can continue using this oil even during pregnancy.
If you have not used this product before and wish to use it during pregnancy, better to consult a doctor because it can cause skin allergy in some rare cases.
It is generally considered as safe to use during lactation, however consult your doctor for the right advice.

Can this product be applied after steam therapy?
No. Oil is best applied before steam therapy. This is as per basic Ayurvedic principles.

  1. i used this oil for head , soaked for 30 minutes and took bath. after that my blood pressure shoot up abnormally and i had to take additional BP tablets to bring it down . I am not sure BP went up due to this oil but I think it could be one of the reason…..

    If used then side effects
    2. Person of high bp( controlled by daily one Bp tabalet) or cholestrols ,how to use?
