Drakshovin Special – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Drakshovin Special Tonic is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Shree Dhootapapeshwar Limited, Mumbai, India. It is used in treatment of anemia, indigestion, fatigue etc. 

Uses and effect on dosha

Drakshovin Special Tonic uses: It is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of indigestion, anorexia, bloating, anemia, tiredness, fatigue, cough, weight loss, asthma, chronic respiratory diseases.

It is an excellent invigorating & restorative tonic with combined properties of Drakshasava, Ashwagandharishta & Saraswatarishta.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Kapha.

Dose and duration of use

Drakshovin Special Tonic Dose: 3 to 4 teaspoonful (15 to 20 ml) twice a day with equal quantity of water or as directed by your physician.

How long to take? It can be taken for upto 3 – 4  months, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ashwagandha – Winter cherry/ Indian Ginseng (root) – Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal. – 150 mg,
Vidari – Pueraria tuberosa – 134 mg,
Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia chebula – 134 mg,
Usheera – Khus Khus – Vetiveria zizanioides – 108 mg
Shatapushpa – Indian Dill – Anethum sowa – 108 mg,
Ardrak – Fresh ginger – Zingiber officinalis – 108 mg,
Shunthi – Ginger – Zingiber officinalis – 105 mg,
Arjuna twak – Terminalia arjuna – 27 mg

Side effect

Side effect: 
Children, Pregnant and lactating mothers should take this product only under medical supervision.
keep out of reach and sight of children.
Store in a cool dry place.
Take this medicine only till the prescribed time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
