Tapyadi Loha Vati – Benefits, How To Use, Side Effects, Ingredients

Tapyadi Loha Vati is an Ayurvedic medicine, with herbal and mineral ingredients, in tablet form. It is used in treating liver conditions such as Jaundice and Anemia. This medicine is used more in North Indian Ayurvedic treatment method and should only be taken strictly under medical supervision. 

Benefits


It is used in the Ayurvedic treatment of Jaundice, anemia, inflammation, Amenorrhea and diabetes.
Doctors also use this for the treatment of
Multiple sclerosisEffect on Tridosha – Balances Vata  Pitta and Kapha.

Dosage


125 mg to 250 mg – 1 – 2 tablets once or twice a day before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side Effects

  • This medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision.
  • Self medication with this medicine may prove to be dangerous.
  • It is to be avoided in children and pregnant ladies.
  • Make sure to select this medicine from a good company.
  • In high doses, it may cause or worsen gastritis.

5 grams of each of
Triphala –

  • Haritaki – Terminalia chebula
  • Vibhitaki – Terminalia bellirica
  • Amalaki – Emblica officinalis

Trikatu – Pepper, Long pepper and ginger
Chitrakamoola – Leadwort – Plumbago zeylanica
Vidanga – Embelia ribes
10 grams of each of
Pippalimoola – Root of Piper longum
Devadaru – Cedrus deodara
Daruharidra – Berberis aristata
Tvak – Cinnamon – Cinnamomum zeylanicum
Chavya – Piper chaba
20 grams of each of
Shilajatu – Asphaltum
Swarna Makshika Bhasma – Purified and processed Copper Pyrite
Raupya Bhasma – Purified and Processed Silver Bhasma
Loha Bhasma – Purified and processed and Iron Bhasma
Mandura Bhasma – Iron – 200 grams
Sugar – 320 grams

    Greetings! This is Dr Hebbar, in reply to your health query.

    You do not seem to be needing any medicine.
    If you wish to take something for liver support, to avoid further increase of bilirubin level, just take Liv 52 tablet -1 tablet 2 times a day after food for 2 months and then just 1 tablet at night after food for another 2 months and then stop it.
