Lashuna Erandadi Kashayam Uses, Dose, Side Effects, Ingredients, Reference

Lashuna Erandadi Kashayam is an Ayurvedic medicine used to treat ascites, bloating etc.  This medicine is based on Kerala Ayurveda principle.  Lashuna means garlic, which is the main ingredient of this medicine. 

Uses

Lashuna Erandadi kashaya benefits:

  • It is used to relieve bloating and gas distention in abdomen.
  • It is used in the treatment of ascites
  • It strengthens abdominal muscles. Hence useful in Hernia.
  • It basically helps to relieve intra abdominal pressure.
  • Very good in hydrocele and gulma.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata in the adbomen.

Side effects


A high dose than prescribed may cause gastric irritation.

Dose and Adjuvant

Lashuna Erandadi kashayam dosage: 

  • 5 – 10 ml, before food, or on empty stomach, once or twice a day or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
  • It is advised to take this kashayam along with a pinch of Asa foetida.
  • If the kashayam is concentrated, then it needs to be mixed with equal quantity of water and should be taken.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Adjuvant:

Rock salt, caster oil or asafoetida.

Lashuna – Garlic – Alium cepa
Eranda – Ricinus communis – Castor
Yakshakshi – Caesalpinia bonduc
Varshabhu – Boerhaavia diffusa
Hapusha – Sphaeranthus indicus
Aushadha – Ginger – Zingiber officinalis
