Maharasnadi Kashayam is a very famous Ayurvedic medicine in liquid form. It is also known as  Rasnadi Kwath, kashaya, kwatha etc.  It has potent anti inflammatory benefits.

Uses

Maharasnadi Kashayam benefits: 
It is used in Vata disorders like Kampavata (Parkinson’s disease), hemiplegia, paraplegia, Neck pain, low back pain, rheumatoid arthritisosteo arthritis, bloating disease, knee pain, hip pain.
It is also used in the treatment of infertility of both male and female.
Post viral fever, when the patient complains of body, muscle and joint pains
Bursitis,  
Bursitis trochanterica,
Shoulder dislocation pain

Use of Maharasnadi Kashayam for Parkinson’s disease

Seminal defects, sperm defects – Shukramaya
Sexually transmitted disorders in men, Premature ejaculation,
Erectile dysfunction – Shukramaya
Female infertility – Vandhya Yoni
Male and infertility – Garbha Karana

Doctors also prescribe this for the treatment of Eczema, dermatitis.
Chikungunya arthritis, Viral arthritis, shoulder dislocation
Pain associated with diabetic foot ulcers, arthritis, bodyache

Dosage

Maharasnadi Kashayam dose: 
The dose is 12 – 24 ml, before food, at about 6 – 7am and 6 – 7 pm or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
It is usually advised to add equal amount of water to the kashayam.
While administering, It is usually given along with a gram of ginger, long pepper, Ajowan or Castor oil.
Yogaraj guggulu is traditionally co prescribed along with this medicine.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Pathya

Pathya, as indicated by Arya Vaidya Sala: 
Avoid body movements, especially hard work and journeys. Bathe every 3rd or 4th day in water boiled with Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Bala (Sida rhombifolia) or pepper leaves. Better use Dhanwantaram tailam for the head and Kuzhumpu for the body.Mutton soup may be taken according to digestion.

Side effects

Maharasnadi Kashaya Side Effects: 
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However it is best to use this product under medical supervision. Self medication with this medicine is discouraged.
One patient complained of  “Pittha related problems like nausea, head spinning etc.” with a dose of 2 spoon, mixed with 4 spoon of water.

It is added with 8 parts of water, boiled and reduced to quarter part, filtered

Maharasnadi Kashayam tablet is the same medicine in tablet form. Its dose is 2 tablets 2 times a day after food.
Maharasnadi Kwatha churna is the herbal coarse powder of the above herbs.
Note: Rasnadi kashayam is different from Maharasnadi kashayam

Flexofen Liniment –

Other indications


In Parkinson’s disease, Maharasnadi kaashayam is useful to reduce stiffness, reduce muscular pain and to some extent, to reduce tremors.

    can be cured by using this medicine?How long we hav to use this medicine ?

    • Hi, I have just explained it above. it takes around 2 – 3 months to treat osteo arthritis, but the dose may have to be reduced gradually. For associated medicines, consult a doctor directly.

  3. Sir dose Maharasnadi Kashayam have any alleviating and rejuvenating effect on enlarged prostate and improving the strength of abdominal muscles(Hernia) and the whole body as well?
    Especially for elderly persons?

  4. it may take time to cure completely. but along with medicine strict rest is to be taken, lifting weights more than a kilo, stepping up ladder, bending, sleeping on irregular surface with pillow of more height are to be avoided.

  6. Is Maharasnadi Kashayam and Maharsanadi Kwatha same or different.
    Maharsanadi Kwatha is ionly in syrup form or Tab also,this syrup can be given to Diabetic patient also

      It is safe for kidneys.

  7. My doctor has asked me to take 2 tablets twice a day before food.is it ok to take on empty somach in the morning.i take thyronorm 75mcg in the morning.please advise.

  8. It is difficult to tell without direct examination.
    It is worth trying Ayurvedic treatment in a local Ayurveda center with panchakarma therapy, for at least 1 month time, before opting for surgery.

    My mother had joint pain and muscle weakness in her right hand after her stroke recovery.
    Problem with fine movement skills as well.

    Ayurvedic doctor advised to take maharasnadi tablets twice a day (2 tablets).

    Does it cure?

  10. I also have a small doubt regarding my brother. His nadi said vata pitta prakriti. Has circulation problems, muscle aches, tingling, headaches, itching dry skin. He was advised tab pirant by maharshi ayurveda for bone ,joint muscle strength, Cervilon tab, kukkutandatwak bhasma tab. My friend who is ayurvedic praticioner advised to add gandha taila to this combo. is it good sir ?

  12. Sir Iam facing dust allergy and sinusitis, bronchitis from last one year. When iam using antibiotic it was normal, but when i visit any plces again dust allergy and cough came. Some times i felt tingling in my body. After using many allopathy tabs igot neck, shoulder muscle weakness and pain. Iam using now triphala rasayana. Kindly Give me any medicine for all my problems.

  13. Hi, I have pain in my joints all the time. .I got my blood tests done, My doctor says l am deficit in Iron, and also told me about auto immune disorder. I don’t have it right now but l am on edge of it with which he can say l am prone to rhemutoid arthritis . Should I take this medicine ?
